So to all of those who know me this would probably be the last place you would think to find myself on a Tuesday night, but as a right of passage for all Edmontonians I just had to check out an Oilers game (plus who would turn down free tickets?). I don't know much about hockey other than that Gretzky guy was pretty good back in the day, that Alexander Ovechkin is the Lebron James of the NHL and some dude named Conklin sucks according to Oilers fans, but tonight's game was an experience.
One thing about the Oilers that I've noticed from the odd time I catch Sportscentre or theScore daily show in the morning, and after tonight is that they suffer from a severe case of Nick Anderson Syndrome (Magic vs. Rockets 94/95 Finals go wiki it). They'll have the lead going into the 3rd period, but will eventually lose the lead and the game either at the end of regulation or overtime. With the end of the season a few weeks away and the possibility of a playoff spot, all we can do is hope the Oilers won't need the Heimlich Maneuver any time soon.
